Art Journal Workshop

Teri Shagoury, 2018 SVA Artist in Residence, will be walking women through the process of doing an "art journal." This journal will be about 40 pages you can use to create and express yourself through writing, journaling, painting, collaging, drawing, etc. This is also the perfect way to go through the season of Lent, the 40 days before Easter. In reflecting on verses from the Bible, we will consider metaphors, then ways to combine different elements such as images, text and color with mixed media techniques that enhance the pages of a journal. Techniques include working in layers, collage, adding texture with stamping and stencils, and mark-making with various tools.

Note: This a special class just for the Women in our community!

Cost: $10 for 1 week // $30 for 3 weeks

(these can be found object such as cardboard, bubble wrap, sponge, sticks, crumpled paper—use your imagination!)

a bottle of Golden Matte Medium
a jar of Matte reguar Gel either Liquitex or Golden
IF you are very fond of texture add some Liquitex Modelsing Paste
